Wander and Wonder Fall Field Trips at Buckeye Ridge

Wander and Wonder Fall Field Trips are an immersive experience designed for youth in Central Ohio to connect with nature through engaging, farm- and nature-based therapeutic activities.

When

Hosted weekdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, each three-hour session blends the healing power of the outdoors with hands-on seasonal learning.

The Experience

Participants will begin their adventure exploring the natural beauty of the land, followed by a lesson on the vital autumn jobs of local wildflowers and insects.

The experience wraps up in the barn, where youth can enjoy meaningful, up-close interactions with our rescue animals.

The Program

The field trip begins promptly at 10:00 AM in the Gathering Space with a welcoming ceremony.

To build community and connection, each participant will design and wear their own personalized name tag before the group completes a round of introductions.

Following icebreakers, a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) will guide participants through the day's schedule and structured activities.

Cost

$15 per child

Adults attend free of charge.

A convenient lunch option is also available for an additional $10 per child.

Group introductions and personalized name tag decorating.

10:30 AM – 11:15 AM

Magic Meadows Wildflower Walk & Photos

A guided stroll discussing the autumn roles of bees, butterflies, and wildflowers, followed by photos on the red tractor.

11:30 AM – 12:15 PM

Woodland Hayride

A scenic wagon ride through the trees begins just off the wildflower path. The ride continues to the back acres for more hiking.

12:15 PM – 1:00 PM

Barnyard Animal Encounters

Hands-on time with bunnies and kittens in a cozy arena seating area made of hay bales.

1:00 PM

Closing Remarks

The program concludes with closing remarks in the Gathering Space.
